Gran Sasso, Italy – the Best of Both Worlds in Just One Place

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2011 and filed under like sayings | 2 Comments »

Scandinavian snow, Dolomite rock, Mediterranean sun. We are not talking about three different places 2000 km away from one another but we are talking about one single place: the “Gran Sasso” mountain in Abruzzo, central Italy. It is nearly exaggerated in its contrasts, its dimension, its mighty natural forces.

The mountain range of Gran Sasso rises grandiose, a bit out of scale, with about twenty peaks above 2000 metres a.s.l., hit by winds and snow storms for 6 months per year. Here, especially when the Balkan draughts arrive, can snow a lot more than on the Alps, even 80 cm in a single night.

On the canals of Corno Grande (Big Horn), the highest peak of the Apennines with its 2.912 metres a.s.l., the snow lasts until July, even though the only glacier of the range, the Calderone, can be considered extinct.

The Gran Sasso is not only wild peaks and bare rocks but is also plenty of small peculiar villages such as Isola del Gran Sasso, also called “the saying village” for the door and window lintels are carved with wise Latin sayings, Castelli famous for its majolica, Santo Stefano di Sessanio which has gain notoriety for its recent conversion in Albergo Diffuso (diffuse hotel) and then the lonely village of Rocca Calascio with its fortress, a brave sentinel at 1460 metres a.s.l. since the VIII century.

The Gran Sasso is, of course, synonymous of winter sports. Here skiing was born during the Fascism with the first cableway that linked Fonte Cerreto to Campo Imperatore. This big plateau, that opens all of a sudden at an altitude of about 2000 metres a.s.l., is particularly suitable for cross-country skiing and ski excursions. A spectacular white plateau 19 Km long and 4 Km wide that is hard to forget.

The ski resort of Campo Imperatore can easily compete with the ones on the Alps with its 20 Km of pists. The off-pists of Tre Valloni and the wild Valle Fredda (Cold Valley) are very appreciated at top levels.

The ultimate ski lifts are the only modernity permission in a planet called Gran Sasso that seems to be unchangeable, where the building developments aimed to satisfy the ever growing demand and offer of tourist resorts are respectful of both tradition and environment, matching the standards owed to one of the most beautiful and important Natural Parks in Italy.

For the ones interesting in investing in property in Italy, the property market around the Gran Sasso area and in all the Abruzzo region offers great opportunities.

Prices of property in Abruzzo are still surprisingly low, especially in rural areas where is possible to buy a country home or a stone house to be restored with some land for less than €80,000.

But rural areas in Abruzzo are not the only ones offering great investment opportunities, there is plenty of properties to buy at an affordable price by the coast, where with an investment as little as €130,000 is possible to buy a 2 bedroom apartment facing the sea, with the possibility to rent the property as an holiday let and get also a good income to help pay the investment.

Baby Announcement Wording Ideas

Posted by admin on January 24th, 2011 and filed under like sayings | 3 Comments »

Baby Announcement Wording Ideas

After having a baby, you suddenly have plenty of new responsibilities to worry about. Having to worry about your Birth Announcements Wording Ideas, Verses and Sayings shouldn’t be one of them. However, there are plenty of issues you’re probably thinking about and you do want to get everything just right on these baby birth announcements. Here are some tips to help you.

Important Tips for Birth Announcements Wordings, Verses and Sayings

Generally, you’ll want to include some basic information in the birth announcement wording. For example, you would normally list the weight and height of the baby at birth on the card. Today, some parents are a bit hesitant to do this if they have a very small or very large baby. However, since mostly friends and relatives will be receiving the announcements, this doesn’t seem to be something with which most parents should be concerned.

The time and location of the delivery is usually also part of the birth announcement wording. Don’t worry if you didn’t have the baby in a hospital but instead chose an alternative spot, such as your home. There’s no reason not to put that information on the card, too. Remember most of the people who receive your announcement will already know this information anyway.

Additionally, most parents tend to include the name of the new baby. Now there may be a reason why you don’t want to add this information. For example, if you are saving the name revelation for the christening ceremony you might want to add this to the baby announcement wording. For example, you might write: “The new name of our bundle of joy will be announced at the christening ceremony later this month.” Of course, that means you’ll probably want to invite all of your friends and family who receive these cards to the actual christening event as well.

Birth Announcements Wordings, Sayings and Verses and Other Concerns

Generally, the most confusing part of the wording is how to address the issue of the parents’ names. Although this isn’t always complicated, some couples just don’t work within the standard etiquette rules. That can make the wording a bit challenging sometimes. Here are some basic rules that will help you decide how to include your names on the announcement.

If you’re a traditional married couple, you can choose one of two methods: Mr. and Mrs. John Doe or John and Jane Doe. Many women prefer the latter.

If you’re a single parent, you should only add your name unless the other parent is actively involved or if you are widowed. In the latter case, add the deceased parent’s name in this way: “and the late John Doe.”

If you’re recently divorced, you should both send out your own individual card with separate baby announcement wording. It’s fine to include the other parent as well but keep the names separate in the birth announcements wording.

A List of Sayings Collected From Old Cookbooks

Posted by admin on January 22nd, 2011 and filed under like sayings | 1 Comment »

LIST OF OLD TIME SAYINGS

This is a list of some old-time sayings I have gathered from old cookbooks. Hope you will enjoy them.

Willingness without action is like a cloud without rain; there may be lots of thunder and lightening but no parched ground is watered.

Too little to save, Too much to dump. That’s what makes the housewife plump.

“A smile is a light in the window of the face by which the heart signifies it is at home and waiting. A face that cannot smile is like a bulb that cannot blossom.” Henry Ward Beecher

You find yourself refreshed by the presence of cheerful people. Why not make earnest effort to confer that pleasure on others?

“Whatever is set before you eat, asking no questions for conscience sake.” 1 Cor. 10:37

Be grateful for your doors of opportunity–and for the friends who oil the hinges.

I set out to find a friend, but couldn’t find one; I set out to be a friend, and friends were everywhere.

“We may live without poetry, music and art,
We may live without conscience, and live without heart;
We may live without friend, we may live without books;
But civilized man cannot live without cooks.”

“He may live without books–what is knowledge but grieving?
He may live without hope–what is hope but deceiving?
He may live without love–what is passion but pining?
But where is the man that can live without dining?”
By Owen Meredith

There is no indigestion worse than that of trying to eat your own words.

We do not know how inexpensive the seeds of happiness are or we should scatter them oftener.

Little acts of kindness are stowed away in the heart like bags of lavender in a drawer to sweeten every object around them.

Strive always to be like a good watch–open face, busy hands, pure gold, well regulated, full of good works.

Ebook Marketing: Network Marketing

Posted by admin on January 20th, 2011 and filed under dreams sayings | 7 Comments »

Network Marketing is a business which many don’t realize needs certain qualities to be successful in. Network Marketing is not a get rich quick method, though some think it is. Are there people making lots of money with Network Marketing? The answer is yes. Now to learn what is the difference of winning or failing. Let’s begin: Patience: You start a Network Marketing home biz. What separates you from the other people is that the others who fail in Network Marketing try for a while, then quickly put in less effort. Then generally within 3 to 6 months of effort, they give up. Patience is a very crucial part of any success and not just in a Network Marketing opportunity. Plants and tree’s need time after planting. There is a tree called the Carob tree, and this particular tree has seeds which are very hard. For more details go to www.eazy-ebook-money.com the seeds take 6 months to sprout! Imagine that most people will give up before seeing the seed become a seedling, even fewer will hold out and continue tending to their Network Marketing home biz until the business bares fruit. This last example is important to grasp. Brian Tracy who is one of the best sales coaches around factored in that it takes 7 years for a business to be able to grow big enough to really start producing fruit. This is same with your Network Marketing business, and you will need patience to see the big incomes. You might be saying at this point, that it is too long to wait. Well you may be right, however, for those people who place more value on their dreams coming into reality, will continue, and keep on keeping on till they realize their vision. It will be. ::: Persistence: Why do many leave Network Marketing in the first few months? It is called lack of persistence. Being patient is one thing, though patience would be a passive thing, and persisting to achieve Network Marketing wealth is an active principle. Persistence with Network Marketing is to get out their, prospect, find people, and make things happen.

Patience is what happens during prayer, persistence is knowing that your prayer is about to be answered; at least at some point in time. Persistence is what has made every wealth story happen and it can happen to you in Network Marketing as well, if only you will persist a little more. Remember the great teachers sayings “without a vision, people perish”. This is true and that is why earlier in the article I referred to having a vision for your life. For more details go to www.profiting-with-free-reports.com A vision is the fuel for persistence; after all, if you don’t know why you doing something, then you are very likely to stop. This is why many fail in Network Marketing, money is great, however, when you look at it deeply, money is not what you want. Take a look at your why, I think you will be surprised. In the beginning, you make slow progress in Network Marketing, however, like compound interest you receive from the bank, the beginning determines your harvest. Pay more attention to master Network Marketing in the beginning will pay off dividends with your Network Marketing home biz opportunity in the long run. Simply keep on keeping on.

For example, love between friends, parents and children, and others. The following are some examples of saying that I found very interesting. It will begin with a very comical and radical saying of how to treat your enemies and it goes like this ‘love your enemies, it really pisses them off’. Whether this is true or not, you just have to find out for yourself. I also came across another saying that I thought was really sweet and simple. ‘Love makes everything lovely’. There is no statement that can be truer. In the bible, there is a saying about love that is also as deep and, it is ‘love covers a multitude of sins’. Because of love, people are able to forget the wrongs and focus on building true relationships. I think the saying from the bible is one that is most inspiring of all. Anniversary Wordings, Sayings and Verses for Anniversary Party Invitations

Although there are plenty of other aspects to planning an amazing anniversary party, that’s no reason to neglect one of the most important parts of planning: the anniversary wordings, Verses and Sayings, http://www.cardsshoppe.com/anniversary-invitations/anniversary-wordings.htm Remember that there are specific etiquette rules you should be following depending on whether or not you are preparing invitation wording for informal or formal cards. The guidelines below can help you make the right choices.

Wording for the Formal Party

If you are going to having a formal celebration for the anniversary, make sure you are careful when writing the message. You want to make sure your content is appropriate for the tone of your event. To be sure of that, you want to follow careful etiquette guidelines that will ensure you prepare the invitation carefully. For example, begin the message with the names of the host/hostess of the party followed by “Request the honor of your company” or a similar phrase. Next write out the names of the people whose anniversary is the focus of this celebration. Remember to always use full names on a formal invitation.

In the next lines, you’ll want to write out the details of the party. The date should be on the next line followed by the time, location, and city and state – each on a separate line. If you want to use a response card, you don’t need any other information on the card. However, if you are not using a separate card, add the RSVP information to the bottom of each invitation.

Of course since these are going to be a formal wedding Anniversary Invitations, http://www.express-invitations.com/anniversary-invitations/ you will want the message pre-printed on each one.

Wording for an Informal Party

Many anniversary celebrations aren’t that formal. You might prefer something a little more casual. If that’s the type of party you want, you won’t be as restricted in terms of etiquette rules. You’ll have a lot more freedom. In fact, you can pretty much choose any content you want to add to the invitations. One idea might be to add a poem or song lyrics that were part of your original wedding ceremony. Obviously, you will still need to add in all of the party details, including the names of the hosts, the names of the guests of honor, and the location specifics.

If you are curious about other differences between these two styles of wedding anniversary invitations, http://www.announcements-shoppe.com/Anniversary-Invitations-Announcements-Cards/productsList-15-1.htm one more is that you can handwrite the message on your casual invitations. Some people decide to split the difference and have a portion of the anniversary invitations wordings, http://www.cardsshoppe.com/anniversary-invitations/ handwritten and the other part pre-printed.

Gifts and Wording

Finally, avoid the temptation to include any mention of gifts in your anniversary wordings. Even with casual invitations, this is bad etiquette because it makes your guests feel as if they are only being invited to give you gifts. That’s not a good idea. Instead, leave off registry information. Don’t even mention that you would prefer cash or a charitable donation in lieu of a gift. Remember that you always want your friends and family members to know you want their presence because you care not because you want more presents.

Religious Wording, Verses and Sayings for All Religious Invitations

Posted by admin on January 10th, 2011 and filed under like sayings | 18 Comments »

Religious Wording, Verses and Sayings for All Religious Invitations

When you are sending out religious invitations, http://www.cardsshoppe.com/religious-invitations/, you’ll want to spend some time thinking about the religious wordings, http://www.cardsshoppe.com/religious-invitations/religious-wordings.htm, you want to include in those cards. Of course, if you don’t feel confident in your writing abilities that could be a challenge you don’t feel comfortable undertaking. To give you some advice in this area, you’ll find some samples of how you can handle the wording for some of the most common religious invitation types you might find yourself sending.

Baptism Invitation Wording, http://www.announcements-shoppe.com/wording_religious_announcement.asp

A baptism is a special time for families so wanting to share it with others is not unusual. That’s why knowing how to word the invitations is so important. Most families keep things fairly simple. You might say, for example: Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brown invite you to share the blessed occasion of their daughter’s baptism.” If you want something more casual, you could use both parents’ first names or replace the names with pronouns: “We invite you to join us for the baptism of our daughter, Anna.”

Christening Invitations Wording, http://www.express-invitations.com/religious-invitations/christening-invitations.php

Typically, a christening is the official naming ceremony for a new child. Sometimes this event is combined with the baptism but not always. When writing these invitations, you might want to consider adding your favorite religious verse or one of the psalms. The message itself should be kept simple: “Please honor us with your presence at the christening of our new child” is one way. Of course with both baptism and christening religious wordings, you want to add all of the details about where the event will take place. Be sure to also mention if a reception will be held afterward. Bar Mitzvah Invitations

In the Jewish tradition, boys turning 13 go through a rite of passage known as a Bar Mitzvah. This is a huge celebration for the boy and is something he has been working towards for a long time. Typically, the celebration starts at the synagogue as he reads from the Torah. Later, his friends and family members gather together for a huge party where he receives cash and gifts from everyone he knows. Because this event is so important, choosing the right religious wording is extremely important. The example below is one possibility:

The Smiths proudly invite you to join them as their son,

Joshua

is called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah Of course, again, the details of the location, time, etc. would all follow this opening.

Religious Verses

Regardless of the type of invitation you are going to be sending, you should always consider including some parts of religious writings that would be appropriate for the event and the beliefs of the recipients. This would be true whether you are sending religious thank you cards, http://www.express-invitations.com/religious-invitations/religious-thank-you-cards.php, Christmas or Hanukkah cards, or even sympathy cards. In every cases, these verses and religious sayings are going to be a huge help as you struggle to find just the right religious wording, http://www.announcements-shoppe.com/

As you are shopping for online invitations and announcements cards, be sure and look for those stationery shoppes that offer these advantages:

Scrapbooking Sayings That Rock! 3 Simple Steps to Make Memorable Ones

Posted by admin on January 7th, 2011 and filed under like sayings | 17 Comments »

It is not what you say it is how you say, the old expression goes.  As a recent devotee to the Scrapbooking world of fun, I have found that people respond differently to how I say something in a scrapbook as opposed to just a display made pretty, although that is something I am learning more and more about everyday.

What is cool about sayings is that they are the very thing that people relate to my scrapbook many times.  It is if the clever saying actually imprinted the page of my book in their memory as opposed to a clever design.  I guess in this world of quotes and twitter, the simple, catchy phrase so much more often resonates than the soulful, long-winded one.

Hey, don’t get me wrong, I am a writer and writing long-winded prose that stirs the soul is something I love to do.  With that being said, let me give you three tips with a couple of examples that may stir your creative instincts.

First, the saying has to Rock!  What does that mean?  Well, the saying has to be something that is a play on words or based on something familiar that most in the culture would know.  Why do you think that the people who make adult films always base their title on a common film known to many?  First, the association makes people take notice and actually read and think about the title and, second, once the attention is grabbed, there is hopefully enough content that the person might be interested in the film.  So, base it on something that will grab attention and draw them in.  Example from a Halloween quote I saw, “Ghouls just want to have fun!” based on the song from Cindi Lauper, “Girls just want to have fun.”

Second, and I think you have definitely have gotten this message, as William Shakespeare said, “Brevity is the sole of wit.”  Keep it short and pity so as to grab attention.  What do you think headlines are?  They grab you and make you want to read the story.

Third, be very careful not to get personal or cruel.  Meaning, that if you are spotlighting an incident in your scrapbook and it could be borderline personal, don’t ever be mean in a quote.  While it may be clever to you, some will find it offensive, guaranteed.  Just keep it clean.  That way, if you are ever asked to serve in a President’s administration, no one can pull out some Scrapbook you did and show you are some insensitive cad.

So, design the quote so it has meaning; that it is a play on words, make it short and sweet and, as Elvis would say, “Don’t be cruel.”

Scrapbooks should always be a treasure and a true reflection of you.
